Legacy Arts Group Cast

I am a Senior at Southwest High School. I am a Dancer, Singer, Musician, Spoken Word Artist, and Rapper. I have performed in the dance program at Southwest since my sophomore year. I have also been in the theater program where I have been a part of the youth led theater group. This years productions I have been a part of include ” Into the Woods”, and “Hello Charlie”. I have also served as lead choreographer for events at my school as well as the dance team.
I have been part of projects “Rooted” Hip Hop Choreographer’s Evening 2021 where I performed a solo dance piece choreographed by Myself and Ms French. I have also released an album titled E18hteen which happens to be the name of my band (click here to listen). This project has been an amazing experience to me because I just have not seen many opportunities like this for people who look like us. I can’t wait to share our story, and our talent to the world!
I am a senior at Park Center High School. I am singer, actress, and I am also on the color guard team. I have been in theater since I was in middle school participating in Penumbra Theater’s youth programming. That experience inspired me to continue on in my high school theater program and concert choir, participating in every annual school musical since freshman year. Currently we are working on “All Shook Up” and traveling with my concert choir. This opportunity to expand my horizons in theater, and build my resume with the largest arts festival in the world really has me excited not only to see the best of American high school theater, but arts from around the world!
I am a singer, songwriter, and I also play guitar, piano, and ukulele. Over the past 4 years, I have performed in shows with T. Michael Rambo, Ashley Dubose, Jesse Larson, and other artists around the Twin Cities. I love music and art because I feel like it connects to me in a way that other things don’t. It’s been one of the best things in my life since I was little. In the future, I would like to go to college, ideally in the UK, and continue to explore my relationship with music. I enjoy being a part of Legacy Arts Group because it is honestly one of the most unique things I’ve ever experienced, and everyone involved is so talented and amazing. This trip to Scotland is really exciting and important because we get to introduce a story surrounding local lives to an international audience.
I have played football all 4 years of high school while studying theater, performing spoken word, participating in dance, and writing short stage plays in school. I consider myself a young playwright, spoken word artist and am proud to be working on my vocals thanks to the direction of Legacy Arts Group. Upon graduation, I will be studying mechanical engineering. I believe that going to Scotland to perform in the Fringe Festival is important to me because I feel I have so much to offer when I am inside my art and the world should see it. I represent the greatness in my community. We have been through so much in Minneapolis, and the youth can only do so much. This way, we can tell our own narrative and share with our community and the world how we feel, and through art create space to have conversation and make change.

HONORING “THE BEAUTIFUL UGLY” ORIGINAL CAST

We would like to thank the original cast of “The Beautiful Ugly” project that helped shape the play into the success it grew into. Without their foundational contribution and initial hard work, we would not have the play we have today.
